Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device when you visit. They let a site remember things between page loads, keep you signed in, and help the site owner understand how the site is used. Some are set by us (first-party) and some by the services we rely on (third-party).

We keep our cookie use deliberately small. We only use two categories:

• Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the site to work, for example keeping you signed in to your account and protecting the checkout against fraud. These cannot be switched off without breaking core features.
• Analytics and attribution cookies. Help us understand how the site is used and which ads brought visitors to us, so we can measure and improve our marketing. You can decline these without losing access to the lookup.

We do not use functional personalization cookies or a network of behavioural advertising trackers beyond the analytics and ad measurement listed below.

A few services we use may set their own cookies. We only load these when the relevant integration is active:

a) Stripe (payments)

When you reach the checkout, Stripe sets cookies such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid to help detect and prevent payment fraud. These are strictly necessary for taking a payment securely.

b) Meta (ad measurement)

If you arrive from a Meta ad, the Meta Pixel may set _fbp and fr to measure whether our ads led to a sign-up. Typical lifetime is about 3 months.

c) Google Ads (ad measurement)

When Google Ads measurement is enabled, Google may set a cookie such as _gcl_au to attribute conversions to the ad you clicked. Typical lifetime is about 3 months.

You can control cookies in a few ways:

• Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
• Opt out of ad measurement directly with the providers: Google at adssettings.google.com and Meta at facebook.com/ads/preferences.

Cookies and the tracker may collect a limited set of technical information, such as:

• IP address and approximate region
• Browser type and version
• Operating system and device type
• Pages you viewed on our site and the ad or link that referred you

We use cookie data to:

• Keep account sessions working and protect checkout against fraud
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
• Measure which ads and channels bring visitors to us

We do not use cookie data to build behavioural profiles of you or to make automated decisions about you.

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last only as long as they are useful for their purpose, from a single session up to about a year for our own analytics identifiers. You can delete any of them from your browser at any time.

Some of the providers above process data outside the EU and UK. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, to protect your data.
