Privacy Policy (US Customers)

TraceLookup("we," "us," "our," or the "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal information on trace-lookup.comand its subdomains (collectively, the "Site"). It applies only to the Site, not to any other website you may reach from it, each of which may have its own practices.

TraceLookup is a phone and email lookup service. When you run a lookup, we check the number or address you enter against libphonenumber metadata and our licensed data partner and report genuine facts such as line type, carrier, region, format validity, reachability, and email deliverability. For United States queries, where our partner holds a consumer record, a report may also include a registered name and a possible street address. We do not sell the phone numbers or email addresses you look up.

2.1 Types of Information We Collect

We collect a limited set of information about you, and a limited set about the subject of a lookup you run (collectively, "Personal Information"):

• Lookup queries. The phone numbers and email addresses you enter to run a lookup, and the results we generate for you (line type, carrier, region, validity, reachability, VoIP or do-not-call status, phone risk signals, and email deliverability or mailbox state).
• Report content about the subject of a lookup. Where our data partner holds a consumer record for the number or address you enter, the report we generate for you may include a registered name, a possible street address, an associated phone number or email address, and a possible employer. The partner returns this to us per lookup from its own licensed database. We do not build or maintain a database of it ourselves, and it is stored only inside the report saved to your account.
• Account data. Your name and email address when you create an account or start a subscription.
• Billing data. Payment details are collected and processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We never receive or store full card numbers.
• Traffic data. Information collected automatically when you visit the Site, such as IP address, access times, browser type and language, pages viewed, referring URL, and device type.
• Saved searches. For subscribers, we associate the lookups you run with your account so you can re-open past results. Saved searches are private to your authenticated account and are not published, indexed, or searchable by anyone else.

2.2 Sources of Information

The facts in a lookup come from two sources: the open-source libphonenumber metadata library, and our licensed data partner (1Lookup), which returns validated number status, carrier and line type, reachability, VoIP and do-not-call flags, phone risk scoring, and email deliverability. For United States queries the partner may also return a consumer record it holds for the number or address, including a registered name and a street address, which we pass through to your report as returned. We do not compile or maintain criminal or court records, family-member associations, social-media profiles, location history, or biometric or facial-recognition data about the subject of a lookup.

We use Personal Information to:

• run the lookups you request and return the results;
• create and maintain your account and, for subscribers, your saved search history;
• process payments and manage your subscription through our payment processor;
• provide customer support and respond to your requests;
• operate, secure, and improve the Site, including fraud prevention and abuse detection;
• send service and, where you have not opted out, marketing communications; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4.1 Use of Cookies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the Site is used, and support our advertising.

4.2 Purposes

Cookies help us operate essential features, understand traffic and performance, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing.

4.3 Your Cookie Choices

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as intended.

We do not sell the phone numbers or email addresses you look up. We share Personal Information only:

• with service providers who process data on our behalf (for example, our payment processor and our lookup data partner);
• with analytics and advertising providers, as described in the Cookies and Interest-Based Ads sections;
• as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy; and
• when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of TraceLookup, our users, or the public.

We may work with advertising partners who use cookies and similar technologies to show you ads based on your activity across sites and over time. You can opt out of many interest-based ads through your device or browser settings and through industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative.

7.1 Marketing Communications

With your consent where required, we may send you marketing emails about our services. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing support@trace-lookup.com. We may still send you non-promotional service messages about your account.

7.2 Testimonials

If you share a testimonial, we will ask for your consent before posting it with your name. You can request removal at any time by contacting us.

7.3 Email Tracking

Our emails may contain small pixels that tell us whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, so we can measure and improve our communications.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your Personal Information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, contact us at support@trace-lookup.com and we will delete it.

The Site is operated for United States customers, and information is processed in the United States. This Privacy Policy does not apply to UK and EU users. If you are based in the UK or EU, please use the footer to choose the terms and privacy notice for your region.

We keep Personal Information only as long as needed to provide the Site, meet the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and comply with our legal obligations. Saved reports, including any name or address a report contains, are deleted automatically no later than 120 days after the lookup runs. They are deleted sooner if you delete the report, clear your history, or close your account, subject to limited security and fraud-prevention logs.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

As defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), TraceLookup does not operate as a consumer reporting agency, and our reports are not consumer reports. You therefore may not use TraceLookup to decide credit, employment, housing, insurance, or tenant applications, or for any other FCRA-regulated purpose.

16.1 The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights regarding your Personal Information, described below.

16.2 Your Rights and Choices

Residents of these states may have the following rights:

• Right to know. Request that we disclose the Personal Information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete. Request that we delete Personal Information we have collected about you.
• Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information we maintain about you.
• Right to opt out. Direct us not to sell or share your Personal Information with third parties.

16.3 How to Exercise Your Rights

You may submit a request by emailing support@trace-lookup.com. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the time required by applicable law.

16.4 Verification Process

We cannot respond to your request or provide Personal Information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the information relates to you.

16.5 Non-Discrimination

You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of your privacy rights.

16.6 Global Privacy Control

Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information.

16.7 Authorized Agent

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may still verify your identity directly.

16.8 Appeals

If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal by replying to our response. We will inform you of our decision and the reasons for it within the time required by applicable law.

Nevada residents may direct us not to sell certain covered personal information. We do not sell such information as defined by Nevada law, but you may still submit a request by emailing support@trace-lookup.com.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for these signals, our Site does not respond to them, but we do honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law, as described above.

The Site may link to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

If a data breach affects your Personal Information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

We do not sell the phone numbers or email addresses you look up. Where applicable law treats certain advertising-related data sharing as a "sale" or "sharing," you may opt out by emailing support@trace-lookup.com or by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.

We do not use your Personal Information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement.
